You
can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by
creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.
Great quote, children certainly learn by inquiry. My nephew had a teacher that used this strategy greatly in her classroom. He says this was his most enjoyable year in elementary school.
Yes when we create a hunger for knowledge in children they become very receptive and open to new knowledge and also discover things on their own.Things learnt through discovery never leave us.
I love your quote. It is like saying you do not give a Man a fish but teach him to fish. The ability of a child to develop the power to create curiosity is a very powerful learning tool, it urges the child to search for answer, seek for solutions, builds his imagination and widens it ability to reason beyond what he sees in front of him.
I really love this quote. It sounds to me that you've been an educator for a long time
ReplyDeleteI really love this quote as well. It embodies the importance of teaching students to take responsibility of their own learning.
