Three ideals contained in the NAEYC and DEC codes of ethics that are meaningful.

To share information about each child’s education and development with families and to help them understand and appreciate the current knowledge base of the early childhood profession.

I think that parental involvement and sharing information with educator is a great way to set up a partnership. Interaction between educator and parents can help with child’s development and well-being. Besides that, involvement gives parents the opportunity to discuss their children’s interest with staff and reach to the best ways that could help their children to perform better at school. Most importantly, children have better academic and social outcomes when their parents and educators work well together. So, it is very clear that families who stay informed about their children's progress at school have higher-achieving children.

To be familiar with the knowledge base of early childhood care and education and to stay informed through continuing education and training.

This is very important to me because as professional in childhood field, we must be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to work effectively with children. Therefore, we need to stay abreast of new information, latest research, ideas, issues, and new resources that would help us to support children’s learning and their development.

We shall advocate for equal access to high quality services and supports for all children and families to enhance their quality of lives.

It is our responsibility as a professional to keep advocate for children and families to get the best services and programs that would enhance children’s skills, and ensuring successful future for all children. Actually, Children thrive when their most basic needs are met and when they get support and attention from their educators and their families. As professional, we have to strive to provide children with appropriate support, provocative environment, and high quality services that will highly enable children to reach their full potential.

  2. The first 2 codes are the same that I chose as well. And I had the third one on my list. I fully agree that families need equal access to quality programs and services. This can be one of the best ways to reach families when they are offered services that will help them have a happy and healthy family. Advocating for these services and programs can provide great help to families in need.

  3. Sharing information with families is very important. They should be active participant in their child’s development both at home and in school. Active parent involvement yields positive learning outcomes. The family is the first stable contacts and relationships the child encounters, trust is built over the years, so extending this trust through their active involvement in the child’s school activities helps the child build a positive relationship with his school environment as well as his interactions with people there.

  4. Being able to give a child and their family what you were educated to give and more is a very important thing. With each one of your ideas even if it does not say it, it shows that you are on a mission to GIVE.
